Program Description: The STAR Proficiency Level 2 course is the third step in earning the Certification Pathway for the STAR Frame of Reference. This advanced course builds upon knowledge from Proficiency Certification I, encouraging the development of advanced clinical reasoning skills, professional reflection, neurodiversity-affirming practices, and exploration of the art of therapy (pass/fail assessment).

Program Cost: The tuition for this program is $1,000. Learning Objectives: Learning Objectives: - Recognize and discuss the progression of professional reasoning
- Consider the development of professional reasoning in your own practice
- Identify ways in which you include (or will include) self-reflection in your own practice
- Reflect on your hopes for learning & professional growth during this certification process
- Demonstrate foundation knowledge of STAR Synthesis by developing a treatment plan effectively using STAR PROCESS
- Reflect on the successful integration of the STAR PROCESS to facilitate success and flow in a session
- Discuss your learning process with the STAR PROCESS and synthesis
- Apply reflection-on-action to formulate follow-up questions related to STAR Synthesis
- Reflect on observations of success related to regulation, relationship, or sensory processing during a treatment session
Participants will use a current case to: - Illustrate a focus on arousal regulation in intervention
- Reflect on dimensions impacting regulation
- biological, emotional, cognitive, social, prosocial
- Discuss your awareness of the dynamic process of self-regulation through body function
- Recognize the importance of your own regulation during intervention
Who Should Attend
This course is only open to OTs, SLPs, and PTs. who have successfully completed the Level 1 Mentorship Program or School-based Intensive program and the STAR Proficiency Certification level 1 course.
Attendance Policy Participants are required to attend each of the livestreamed sessions in real time to receive Certificate of Completion for the program. Participants may miss 1 session during the livestreamed course to be eligible for a certificate of completion. The course instructor(s) must be informed of any absences ahead of time. Emergencies or unplanned absences will be handled at discretion of the course instructor(s) and Education Manager. Video recordings are typically available to all participants for up to 1 week after the recorded sessions, however this is not guaranteed due to potential technical issues. If video recordings are available, this may be reviewed in the case of a planned or unplanned absence. Course Components (24 Continuing Education hours):
Cancellation Policy
All registrations must be finalized or cancelled for a full refund 30 days prior to the course. Registrations cancelled less than 30 days prior to the course may be substituted or deferred to a future course sponsored by STAR Institute. Staff must be notified of substitutions at least 24 hours before the start of the event. Registrations cancelled due to a family emergency or other unexpected event, or illness will be deferred to a future course sponsored by STAR Institute. In the event this program must be cancelled due to illness, fire, strikes, war, acts of God, terrorism or other causes that would prevent the event from taking place, STAR Institute will attempt to reschedule the event. If the event is unable
to be rescheduled, STAR Institute will refund all tuition fees paid.
