Program Outline
This 1 week (2.5 hours per day) course introduces participants to the interconnectedness and roles of the three principle domains of development: sensory processing, regulation and relationship. The neuro-foundations and therapeutic guidelines to address each domain will be discussed. Special attention will be given to the unique interrelationship sensory processing has with the other two domains. Clinical implications and guidelines for practice will be discussed.

Learning Objectives
- Recognize primary roles and interconnected nature of sensory processing, regulation and relationship in early development
- Identify neurological foundations and related neurological structures primary to the development of sensory processing, regulation and relationship
- Define the subtypes of the Sensory Processing Nosology and their impacts on regulation, relationship and function
- Identify at least three clinical implications of the sensory processing-regulation-relationship triad and strategies to apply in treatments

Mim Ochsenbein, MSW, OTR/L

Mim Ochsenbein, MSW, OTR/L has been a practicing pediatric occupational therapist for over 20 years. She received advanced training in sensory integration (SIPT certification), listening therapy (Therapeutic Listening), feeding therapy (SOS) and infant massage (CIMI). Mim’s work with children and youth has occurred in a variety of settings including early intervention, school based, clinic based, mental health and private practice. She received her MSW in 2012 with an emphasis in non-profit management. Mim’s work as a social worker has included case management, program development, and program management. She has taught both graduate level and professional continuing education courses since 2013.

Cancellation Policy
All registrations must be finalized or cancelled for a full refund by May 4, 2020. Registrations cancelled after May 4, 2020 will be deferred to a future STAR Institute Foundations Course. In the event this program must be cancelled due to illness, fire, strikes, war, acts of God, terrorism or other causes that would prevent the event from taking place, STAR Institute will attempt to reschedule the event. If the event is unable to be rescheduled, STAR Institute will refund all tuition fees paid.
